Busy Weekend for State T&F Athletes at Local Invites
Most state track and field teams are keeping their travel mileage within state today and tomorrow as they compete in invitationals at Middletown, Ridgefield, Coginchaug, Woodbridge and Enfield.
Fast Times at Ridgefield High – The 3200
Of the three meets slated for today the inaugural Fast Times at Ridgefield High – The 3200 at Ridgefield HS at 7:00pm offers the most promise to impact the state rankings. Meet Director Bryan Kovalsky offers many of the top distance runners in the state a chance to go for a PR in both the boys and girls 3200m as their only concern of the meet. The top 15 entries are listed below.
The boys field of 77 entries is led by Ridgefield’s own Steven Hergenrother followed by a talented squads of Danbury athletes led by Devon Rosemark, Xavier’s team led by John Larkin and Hale Ray’s Kraszewski brothers, Michael and Matthew.

The girls field of 85 runners is led by Greenwich’s Esme Daplyn who was edged a 5k two weeks ago at the CT Distance Festival. Daplyn will be challenged by Georgia Keller on her home track as well as top talent from New Fairfield that includes Ripley Penney as well as Pomperaug and Portland.
