Tuohy Receives Second ACC Performer Of The Week Honor Of The Season

GREENSBORO – Katelyn Tuohy has been named the ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

This honor comes after a record-breaking weekend in which Tuohy broke the NCAA record for the women’s 5000m at the Sound Running On Track Fest in Walnut, California. She clocked in at 15:03.12 to set the new all-time collegiate mark and further expand her already impressive resume.

The junior has competed at two outdoor meets so far in 2023 and has been named the ACC Performer of the Week after each. Her first honor came after she turned in top-five times in both the 1500m and 5000m at the Wake Forest Invite on April 21.

Her time is ranked number one in the country and clocks in 17 seconds faster than the second-place mark.

Tuohy now holds the college record in the outdoor 5000m, indoor mile, and indoor 3000m.
