Clemson Has 15 Athletes Qualify for Finals on Saturday – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Tigers put on another impressive performance on Friday, sending 15 entries to Saturday’s championship races. Clemson ended the day with five points on the women’s side, while the men had gathered 11 points. Action will resume on Saturday at 12 p.m. and conclude following the men’s 4×400 meter relay at 6:40 p.m.

FULL RESULTS

FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Oneka Wilson (13.33) and Antoinette Van der Merwe (13.41) both qualified for the 100 meter hurdles finals. Wilson, a freshman, won the 60 meter hurdles ACC Indoor Championship in February.
  • Giano Roberts (13.44) and Jevon Williams (13.79) both qualified for the 110 meter hurdles finals. Roberts won the 60 meter hurdles National Championship in March.
  • KK Gadson’s 53.06 400 meter run time earned her a spot in the finals. She will compete in that race as well as the 400 meter hurdles finals on Saturday.
  • A whopping four Tigers qualified for the men’s 400 meter finals. D’Andre Anderson, Aman Thornton, Tarees Rhoden and Theron Bradford will all compete in the finals of the event.
  • Ockera Myrie’s personal best 11.42 100 meter dash was third best on the day and sent her to Saturday’s finals.
  • Cameron Rose and Dashinelle Dyer both ran 10.28 in the 100 meter dash to qualify for Saturday’s finals.
  • Brynne Sumner (2:05.92) qualified for the 800 meter run finals.
  • Aman Thornton (1:47.68) and Tarees Rhoden (1:48.32) both qualified for Saturday’s finals. Rhoden is the reigning ACC Champion in the event.
  • Isabelle Klett finished eighth in the javelin throw with a mark of 44.52 meters. That is good for No. 5 in school history.
  • Nia Christie set a personal best 12.21 meter triple jump to finish ninth in the conference.
  • Ryan John’s 15.15 meter triple jump was eighth best.
  • Maddie Dinneen ran a personal best 10:36.78 to move up to No. 3 in school history in the event.

THURSDAY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Daniel Cope threw a school record 64.67 meters in the hammer throw to finish third in the conference and earn First Team All-ACC honors.
  • Shantae Foreman finished fifth in the long jump, leaping 6.12 meters and earning a spot on the All-ACC Second Team.
  • Ethan Cocco threw a personal best 65.64 meter javelin throw to finish fifth and earn a spot on the All-ACC Second Team.
  • Lashanna Graham (56.89) and KK Gadson (57.17) finished second and third in the 400 meter hurdle prelims to qualify for finals.
  • Cameron Rose (20.56) and Wanya McCoy (20.71) finished third and fourth in the 200 meter dash to qualify for finals.
