Track and Field Closes Out The Final Day of SEC Outdoor Championships


STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State track and field program closed the 2023 SEC Outdoor Championships on Saturday in Baton Rouge, La. The Bulldogs competed in a handful of final events, earning seven top 10 finishes on the night.
 
Rosealee Cooper finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.00. Her time was good for the fifth-best mark in program history, and it was the second straight event earning a top five time in program history after her 12.99 time in Thursday night’s prelim.
 
Joining Cooper with a top five on Saturday was Zoe Brito-Babapulle. She earned her top five placing in the 800m final with a time of 2:05.07.
 
The women’s 4×100 meter relay team made history on Saturday. The relay team of McKenzie Calloway, Cooper, Kamaya Debose-Epps, and Jessicka Woods competed in the event in 44.79 for a season-best time for the relay team while also earning the second-best time in program history.
 
Also placing inside the top 10 on Saturday was Asia Poe in the high jump, the men’s 4x100m relay team, and Jimoh Ramat in the 1500m race.
