Buffs Put Finishing Touches on Pac-12 Championships


WALNUT, Calif. – The Colorado track and field teams wrapped up the final day of the Pac-12 Championships with three more podium finishes on Sunday.  

Allie Routledge found herself on the podium in the women’s high jump, clearing 1.81m (5-11.25), matching her own personal best for a second-place finish. 

 

Abbey Glynn improved her showing from a year ago. The 2022 third-place finisher in the 400-meter hurdles moved up a step on the podium, closing the race in second with a time of 56.77.

 

The women’s 5,000-meters was a loaded field that saw three Buffs score points. Ella Baran led the charge, placing second with a time of 16:07.55. Elle Orie and Kaitlyn Barthell followed suit in seventh and eighth. 

 

In the men’s 800-meter final, Ben Greene placed fifth, scoring four points for CU with a new PR of 1:49.80. Ryan Lindrud also competed in the event and scored points for the Buffaloes, running a time of 1:51.88 to place eighth.

 

Garrett Nelson ran to a fifth-place finish in the men’s 400-meter hurdles with a new PR of 51.62, scoring four points. He improved on his eighth-best mark in CU history. With a time of 52.86, Colton Romig placed eighth and scored one point for CU. 

The duo of Charlie Sweeney and Hunter Appleton placed sixth and seventh in the men’s 5,000 meter, both scoring points for the Buffaloes. 

 

The men’s 4×400 of Tyler Williams, Ian Gilmore, Garrett Nelson and James Milholen collectively placed fourth with a time of 3:06.86. 

 

Grace Jenkins, Emma Pollak, Jaida Drame, and Abbey Glynn placed fifth in the women’s 4×400 with a time of 3:36.99, scoring four points. 

 

The CU women finished out the weekend with a team score of 57 points to place seventh, while the men scored 42 points to place ninth. 

 

Colorado will be back in action at the NCAA West Preliminaries starting May 24.
