Willie Named to The Bowerman Men’s Post-Conference Watch List


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Track and Field sprinter Ryan Willie was named to The Bowerman Men’s Post-Conference Watch List Update, by the USTFCCCA on Thursday afternoon. This is the first time in his career that Willie has been named to the Bowerman Watch List.
 
This past week at the SEC Outdoor Championships, Ryan Willie received All-SEC First Team honors, winning gold in both the 400m and 4×400 and finishing with silver in the 4×100. Willie’s 400m time (44.27) was the fastest time in the country this year, fourth fastest in the world this year, and the eleventh fastest in collegiate history. In the 4×400 (2:57.76), the relay team set a new collegiate record, led by Willie who ran a 400m split of 43.3 seconds. The final event he competed in, the 4×100 (37.93), was a new school record and the second fastest time in collegiate history..
 
Willie and the Gators continue their 2023 campaign on May 24-27 at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida.
