In the clash of the eight teams in the CCC West Division Outdoor Track and Field Championships today at Willowbrook Park in New Britain the Glastonbury girls and Hall boys teams successfully defended their titles in resounding fashion. 

The Glastonbury girls used their large numbers to overwhelm their opponents to score 189 points over runner-up Southington with 116, Hall (106), Conard (104), Simsbury (93), Avon (49), Farmington (36) and NW Catholic (8). The Guardians received gold medal performances  from Riley Carroll in the 100m (12.77) , Audrey O’Hare in the 400m (1:00.35), Kelley MacElhiney in the 3200m (11:32.95) as well as a win by their 4x800m relay team. 

Multi-event winners include Angela Dulnuan (Conard) in both 100m and 300m hurdles and Anna Siciliano (Hall) in shot put and discus.

The Hall boys dominated the meet scoring gold medals in 13 of the 18 events including all three relays to score 263 points over runner-up Conard with 113 followed by Southington (99.5), Glastonbury (88), Simsbury (63), Farmington (36), Avon (30.5) and NW Catholic (5).

Hall fueled their team title with victories in the 200m from Sam Sandler, a 1-2-3-4 sweep in the 400m led by Jon York in his PR 48.51, another 1-2-3-4 sweep in the 1600m led by a PR 4:17.91 from Isaac Mahler whole later returned to win the 3200. Joe Nham gained his PR to win the 110m hurdles in 15.49. Hall also scored success in the field events with victories in the triple jump, pole vault, high jump, javelin, and discus. Conard’s trio of 100m sprinters swept the top 3 spots led by Giancarlo Fedolfi in 11.33 followed by JeanCarlo Barquinero and Miguel Algarin.
