Pack Set To Begin Regional Action In Jacksonville


RALEIGH – The NC State Track and Field team is set to send sixteen athletes to compete in the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, FL for a chance to advance to Nationals.

LAST TIME OUT

The Pack is coming off of an impressive outing at the 2023 ACC Outdoor Championships in which they claimed five individual conference titles and a new school record. 

Jirah Sidberry claimed the first individual championship of the week, winning the women’s long jump with a PR mark of 6.35m.

The second gold medal entered the trophy case thanks to Katelyn Tuohy, who ran her first collegiate 10,000m in 32:56.75 to finish in first. 

On the second day of competition, Timara Chapman finished the Heptathlon with 5710 points and earned the ACC Title for the event. Chapman has already established her spot in the 2023 NCAA Track National Championships and will watch this week to see which teammates will join her.

Cam Murray established a new school record in the men’s 110m hurdles prelim, clocking in at 13.43 to come in first and advance to the final. He went on to claim first place and win the individual ACC Championship for the event with a time of 13.46 in the final race.

In the women’s 5000m, Amaris Tyynismaa took home conference gold with a time of 15:53.07.
