Beck breaks 100m school record at NCAA East Prelims


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior Cole Beck broke his own 100m outdoor school record at Virginia Tech clocking in a time of 10.05 in the first round of the NCAA East Regionals on Wednesday. Beck earned an automatic qualifying spot into the quarterfinals finishing first in his heat. 

Freshman Judson Lincoln IV qualified for the 400m quarterfinals placing third in his heat with a time of 46.01.  Lincoln IV heads into Friday’s race seeded eighth after the first round of competition. 

Nick Plant and Ben Nagel clinched their spots in the 800m quarterfinals on Friday with Nagel seeded fourth (1:48.38) and Plant in 18th clocking a time of 1:49.63 in the first round.

In the 1500m Viktor Idhammar has advanced to the quarterfinals ranked 18th after the first round with a time of 3:46.14.
