Global medalists set for Meeting Citta' Di Savona

A number of Olympic Games and World Championships medalists will takes part at the Meeting Citta’ Di Savona, a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger, on Wednesday, May 24.

Dina Asher Smith from Great Britain, the 2019 World champion, will run her first 200m race of the season.

The women’s 100m will be headlined by British sprinter Darryl Neita, whiel the men’s 100 m dash will have the likes of Reece Prescod, Jeremiah Azu, Olympic 4×100 champion Filippo Tortu, Benjamin Azamat (9.90) and Commonwealth games champion Yupun Abeykoon (PB 9.96).

The women’s 100m hurdles will have Finnish star, the European indoor champion, Reetta Hurske, Hungarian Lica Kozak, Sarah Lavin and Meete Graversgaard.

European Indoor champion Zane Weir who holds a PB of  22.06m is entered in the men’s men’s shot put. Weir, who threw  21.74m in Halle, Germany last weekend, will face Leonardo Fabbri in a strong shot put contest which has six men with PBs over the 21 metres.

The men’s 400m hurdles has 2019 World championships bronze medalist Abderahmane Samba, Yasmani Copello, Alessandro Sibilio and Sokwakhana Zazini.

The women’s triple jump has a strong field which includes Thea Lafond,  Tugba Danizmaz and Dariya Derkach, gold and silver medalists from the 2022 European Indoor Championships.

European under 18 champion Mattia Furlani and Filippo Randazzo are in the men’s long jump.
