Boys Events to watch:

The latest core of sprinters have moved up to fill the shoes of those from Windsor’s 2022 championship team to lead them to a repeat title on Thursday. Windsor will look to start scoring quickly with their top ranked 4x100m team that should include 100m top sprinter Achillius White, Jaden Long, Damion Sparrow and Maxim Copeland. Their speed will keep opponents wary as they add 2 more of the top 3 seeds in 100m with Taeshawn Berry and Copeland. The Warriors should also pick up huge points late in the meet as Copeland and Berry are top seeded in the 200m with White adding more to their total.

While Windsor’s Grant Harris is the top ranked in 110m hurdles he can also challenge top ranked Isaiah Adams (Avon) in the 300m hurdles.

Arrive on time for the start of track events since an anticipated duel between EO Smith and East Lyme will play out as the quartet of runners pass the baton with edge to Panthers seeded with an 8:03.13 over Vikings at 8:05.47.

Two of the front runners on the final lap of the 1600m should be top seeded Tristan Burke of Wilton and East Lyme’s Brendan Fant with a huge pack close behind.

Top seeded Kyle Hoffman of Hand and Hunter Howard of Windsor are sub 50-seconds in the 400m in the middle of the meet that should add more points to the totals for Hand and the Warriors.

The 800m challenge of veteran junior Jack Mattingly of EO Smith should come from newcomers Jack Mulcunry (Bristol Eastern) and Thomas Conklin (Lyman Hall) as all have run 1:55 or better this season.

East Lyme’s Sean McCauley will have fresh legs to see if he can lower his top ranked 9:36.96 as Matthias Galban (Joel Barlow) and Harrison Grenier (Hand) will be running their second event.

The final event of the track meet shouldn’t be missed since it may prove interesting to see Windsor can come close to their CT#1 seed of 3:21.57 while holding off Hand (3:24.55) and EO Smith (3:27.87).

If you get the chance make sure to visit the shot put circle outside the stadium on the north side where 5 of the state’s top throwers enter the ring with seed marks over 50-feet. Led by ECC champion Thomas…
