Florida won 3 of the 4 women’s USTFCCCA South Region Awards.
GAINESVILLE, FLA. – Three Florida Gators received US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Outdoor Regional Awards. Head Coach Mike Holloway won both Men’s and Women’s South Region Coach of the Year, Jasmine Moore won Women’s South Region Field Athlete of the Year, and Associate Head Coach Nic Petersen won Women’s South Assistant Coach of the Year.
Head Coach Mike Holloway, led the Florida Gators men’s program to their eleventh National Championship and his thirteenth overall. Holloway coached the 4×400 team to two collegiate records this season and an NCAA Title in the event. He also coached the women’s team to a runner up finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Jasmine Moore’s continued he exceptional career in horizontal jumps earning First Team All-American and All-SEC for her performances this season. At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Moore scored 16 points for the Gators, finishing with gold in the triple jump (14.78m/48’6″) and bronze in the long jump (6.66m/21’10.25″). Her triple jump mark was a collegiate record and the second farthest jump in the world this year. She also won gold in both the long jump (6.88m/22’7″) and triple jump (14.14m/46’4.75″) at SEC Outdoors.
Nic Petersen, in his 11th year at Florida, coached both Jasmine Moore and Claire Bryant to First Team All-American honors. Moore set the collegiate record in the triple jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, winning the individual title in the triple jump (14.78m/48’6″) and finishing with bronze in the long jump (6.66m/21’10.25″). She also won both event titles at the SEC Outdoor Championships. Bryant earned fifth in the long jump at NCAA Outdoors (6.44m/21’1.5″) and bronze in the long jump at SEC Outdoors (6.68m/21’11”).
