GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After an incredible 2023 season where the honors and accolades continued to roll in, Jasmine Moore can add one more to the list, The Bowerman Finalist. On Monday afternoon, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the three women’s finalists for the award. Jasmine Moore of Florida, Julian Alfred of Texas, and Britton Wilson of Arkansas. Moore along with the other two finalists appeared on every Women’s The Bowerman watchlist this season. The Bowerman is awarded each year to the top male and female collegiate athlete in the sport of NCAA track & field.

Moore is one of seven Gators Track & Field athletes in the program’s history to be named a Bowerman Finalist. This is the third time in the program’s history that a Florida women’s athlete has been named a finalist. Anna Hall was most recently a finalist in 2022, preceded by fellow horizontal jumper Yanis David in 2019. On the men’s side, Grant Holloway was a finalist in 2018 and 2019, Marquis Dendy in 2015, Tony McQuay in 2012, and Christian Taylor in 2011. Grant Holloway in 2019 and Marquis Dendy in 2015 are the only Gators to win the award. If Moore wins she will be the first Gator woman to win the award.

Jasmine Moore’s 2023 campaign was historic, featuring championships and records at every turn. During the indoor season, Moore earned First Team All-American and All-SEC honors in both the long and triple jump. At the SEC Indoor Championships, she won gold in both the long jump (6.91m/ 22’8″) and triple jump (14.57m/47’9.75″), earning her fifth and sixth consecutive horizontal jump golds as a Gator at the SEC Championship. She won 2023 SEC Indoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Year.
She followed up the performance a few weeks later at the NCAA Indoor Championships, winning gold in the long jump (7.03m/23’0.75″) and triple jump (15.12m/49’7.25″). Moore became the first woman ever to clear both 15m in the triple jump and 7m in the long jump at the same meet.
