World M65 record for Paul Forbes and fast sprints for Lansiquot and Glave

Scot sets world mark at 1500m plus news of fast domestic sprints with times of 9.99 and 11.01 in our track and field round-up

Double world masters indoor champion Paul Forbes smashed the world M65 1500m record with 4:39.65.

The previous British record was Harry Tempan’s 4:44.0 from 33 years ago and the world mark was Simon Herlaar’s 4:39.87 from 1994,

Forbes was primarily a 800m runner in his youth, winning the UK title and running in three Commonwealth Games with a 1:45.66 PB set 40 years ago.
