Ducks Announce 2023 XC Schedule

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon cross country team will host the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Friday, Sept. 22 as part of its 2023 six-date schedule.

The season begins Friday, Sept. 1, with the Linfield Harrier Classic in McMinnville, Ore. The opener is scheduled for a 10 a.m. start at Joe Dancer Park with a women’s 4K and men’s 6K to follow.

This year’s Dellinger Invitational will once again be held at the Pine Ridge Golf Club in Springfield. The men’s 8,000-meter race will start at 11 a.m. with the women’s 6K to follow at 11:45 a.m.

Getting an early look at the NCAA course, Oregon’s next date is Friday, Oct. 14, with the XC-23 Pre Nationals in Charlottesville, Va.

The postseason begins Friday, Oct. 27, with the Pac-12 Championships hosted by Washington State at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash. The UO women are set to return its trio of all-conference performers from a season ago in Izzy Thornton-Bott, Harper McClain and Emilie Girard.

The NCAA West Regional Championships will be held Friday, Nov. 10, in Sacramento, Calif. The top-two teams in each race earn an automatic spot in the national field with 13 teams from around the country earning an at-large bid.

Five Ducks—McClain, Thornton-Bott, Maddy Elmore, Abdinasir Hussein and Quincy Norman—ran to all-region accolades a season ago.

For the first time since 1987, the national meet returns to Virginia when the Cavaliers host the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Panorama Farms. Thornton-Bott collected All-America honors with a 36th-place finish last year in Stillwater, Okla.
