LOS ANGELES, Calif. – UCLA Cross Country is back in action on Friday, Sept. 1, at the Loyola Marymount University South Bay Twilight. The LMU-hosted meet will take place at Wilson Park Friday.
The women’s 6000m race begins at 7:45 p.m., followed by the men’s 8000m at 8:55 p.m.
2022 Cross Country Season in Review
The Bruins opened the 2022 campaign with a commanding win over the University of California, San Diego at the Mammoth-UCSD Dual. Both men’s and women’s squads claimed team firsts against the Tritons.
UCLA men’s cross country followed it up with a strong performance at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon. The Bruins had three finishers in the top 10 of the race en route to a team third place in Oregon. The women took a team seventh place on their side.
At the Pac-12 Championships, returners Michael Mireles (8000m – 23:35.5) and Mia Kane (6000m – 20:23.4) set season-best marks in their races and finishing as UCLA’s second scorer in each competition. Mireles trailed only Peter Herold and Kane followed Emma Tavella for the Bruins. UCLA men placed fifth as a team, and the women claimed eighth at the Conference championships.
