Bulldogs Open Cross Country Season In-State At The Opener

JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi State’s cross country team will kick off the new season Friday evening at The Opener in Jackson, Mississippi.

The meet will be hosted by Mississippi College at the Choctaw Trails. The Bulldog women are set to run a 5K at 6 p.m. CT.  Live updates and results for the meet can be found at PirateTiming.com.

Five of MSU’s eight women in the lineup will be making their collegiate debuts: Gabrielle Boulay, Trinity Holland, Ramat Jimoh, Madelyn Keating and Brooklyn Quanz. Zoe Brito-Babapulle, Savannah McIntosh and Maci Mills make up the rest of the team.

McIntosh is coming off posting State’s highest finish at the 2022 NCAA South Region Championships where she broke her best time by 57 seconds. Brito’s last 5K was clocked at 19:03.2 at last year’s Louisville Classic. Mills is a returner who has seen action on the track, but this will be her first race in cross country.
