UNIVERSITY PARK – The Pitt men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in their second meet of the season Friday morning in University Park, PA at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational with the men’s team placing second with 59 points while the women’s team finished in third place with 79 points.
In the women’s 6K race, Pitt was led by Winnie Incorvaia who finished in seventh place overall with a time of 21:18.3. Sadie Carey-Tharp collected 14th place with a run of 21:42.6. Emily Brown and freshman Camy Kiser came in 18th and 20th place with respective times of 22:01.9 and 22.02.6. The women’s team finished behind Penn State and Syracuse, and ahead of Buffalo, Temple, Youngstown State, and West Virginia.
The men’s race consisted of a 5.2-mile run of the Blue Course in which Luke Henseler and Jack Miller both placed in the top ten with times of 25:38.0 and 25:49.0, respectively. Peyton Geehrer (15th, 26:03.1), Quinton Gatons (17th, 26:10.3), Luke Miller (18th, 26:12.4) and Finn Walsh (20th, 26:15.4) rounded out the top twenty to secure second place, finishing behind Syracuse and in front of Penn State, Buffalo, Temple, and Youngstown State.

The Panthers are off until September 29, when they return to action at the Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame in South Bend, IN.
