Klika, Henseler Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Following successful weeks by both programs, Women’s Volleyball’s Emmy Klika and Men’s Cross Country’s Luke Henseler were named this week’s PNC Achievers of the Week.

Emmy Klika helped volleyball earn sweeps of both Loyola Chicago and No.24 Marquette during their trip to the Windy City this weekend.  Klika recorded 13 digs and six assists in their 3-0 win over No. 24 Marquette Friday night.  The junior recorded nine digs and helped Pitt hold the Wolves of Loyola Chicago to a .054 hitting percentage later that weekend.  Klika has helped the Panthers win an ACC Championship and reach back-to-back NCAA Women’s Volleyball Final Fours in her first two years on campus.

Senior, Luke Henseler finished fifth overall at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational held at Penn State University on Friday, September 8. His time of 25:38.0 in the 5.2-mile race helped Pitt to second place at the meet beating out host Penn State, Buffalo, Temple and Youngstown State.  The Coventry, RI native has made multiple trips to the ACC Championships throughout his Pitt career and looks to build on the success of last season after competing at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
