Bulldogs Return to Action Friday Morning


Huntsville, AL- Mississippi State’s cross country team returns to the course on Friday, Sept. 15th, for The Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala., following a strong second-place finish to open the season.
 
The meet, hosted by Jacksonville State University, will be held at John Hunt Park, with the women’s 5k set to begin at 8:30. MSU is one of 39 teams in the women’s race that features four SEC foes: Kentucky, Ole Miss, Auburn, and Alabama, which ranked 13th in the preseason poll. Earlier this month, State kicked off the 2023 cross country season with a second-place finish and a lineup including four freshman, Ramat Jimoh, Gabrielle Boulay, Brooklyn Quanz, and Madelyn Keating counting toward the team’s score. The quartet will be returning to Friday’s lineup with the addition of another freshman, Jaelyn Ogle, who will be making her college debut.
 
The remaining Bulldog members for the race will include four Bulldogs making their college debuts: Haley Ogle, Hunter Anderson, Madison Jones, and Mallory Streetman. Maci Mills will return to the lineup for her second race of the season.
