Cross country hosts annual Cougar Classic, men steal top of the 8k podium


COLFAX, Wash. — Brian Barsaiya broke a Cougar Classic meet record with a 23:41.3 to win the men’s 8k while Neema Kimtai won the women’s 6k as Washington State men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted the second home meet of the fall Friday evening at Colfax Golf Club.

Kelvin Limo, coming off of a 6k meet record (17:24.3) in the season-opening WSU Alumni Open finished runner-up behind Barsaiya with a time of 23:50.5.
