NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss men’s and women’s cross country have both jumped into the national rankings, with the Rebel men moving up to No. 23 and the women No. 26 in the Week One USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.
This is the 39th time both Ole Miss squads have been ranked simultaneously, and it comes after a dominant showing at the Southern Showcase last Friday. In Huntsville, the Rebels swept both team titles, with the Ole Miss men winning by 42 points over Auburn following a 21-second scoring spread, and the Rebel women winning by 37 points over Auburn after notching all five scorers within the top 14 spots.
This is the 58th total appearance in the national poll for the Ole Miss men, as well as the 41st overall for the Rebel women.
Ole Miss is off this week to prepare for a trip to Chicago next Friday, Sept. 29, at Loyola’s Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational.
