UNC junior Parker Wolfe claimed second place and paced the Tar Heels as he completing the 8K run in 23.23.1; finishing 2.8 seconds out of first place. Graduate Alex Phillips placed eight with a time of 23:33.0 and junior Ethan Strand came in 20th with a time of 23:42.6.

Graduate transfer Jake Gebhart also finished inside the top 50, placing 37th with a time of 23:53.6.

Junior Fatima Alanis was the Tar Heels’ top finisher on the women’s side, placing 26th with a time of 16:55.0. Sophomore Evan Klingbeil was shortly behind Alanis, crossing the finish line in 16:55.8 to place 28th.

Juniors Kelsey Harrington and Ava Dobson also finished inside the top 65 in the race which featured more than 200 runners. Harrington completed the course in 17:17.2 to place 63rd, while Dobson finished two spots behind her in a time of 17:19.8.

Carolina will be back in action a three weeks, Oct. 13, at the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wis.
