State Heads to Missouri for Gans Creek Classic


Columbia, Mo.- Mississippi State’s cross country team will return to the courses Friday September 29th, for the 5th Annual Gans Creek Classic, following impressive improvements in its seventh place  finish at the Southern Showcase.
 
The meet will be held at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course and hosted by the University of Missouri. The Bulldogs will be running its first 6k of the season, set to being at 9:45. The race will feature Lipscomb who is ranked fifth in the State’s South Region.
 
All five of State’s top finishers from the Southern Showcase two weeks ago will be returning to the line, four of which are coming off personal best times in the 5k: Madison Jones, Hayley Ogle, Ramat Jimoh, Hunter Anderson. Redshirt freshman Mallory Streetman was the third Bulldog to cross the finish line in her cross-country collegiate debut at the Southern Showcase.
 
Freshman Brooklyn Quanz and redshirt freshman Maci Mills will also be returning to the lineup following impressive PRs, including a shattering 42 second improvement by Mills. The Bulldogs remaining members for The Gans Creek Classic are returning for their second race of the season: Zoe Brito, Savannah McIntosh.
