Bulldogs Finish Seventh In Its First 6k Of The Season.


Columbia, MO- Mississippi State’s cross country team took home seventh place in its first 6k of the season at the Gans Creek Classic Friday morning.
 
State was led by junior Hayley Ogle (23rd) in a 6k personal best performance time of 21:43.4. Freshman Ramat Jimoh (24th) followed on Ogle’s heels, crossing the line with a time of 21:43.7. Also scoring for the Bulldogs was freshman Jaelyn Ogle (32nd) finishing with at 21:53.2 in her collegiate 6k debut.
 
Junior Zoe Brito-Babapulle (62nd) and sophomore Hunter Anderson(70th) rounded out the top five for the Bulldogs at 22:33.0 and 22:39.7, respectively. Anderson ran a 6k personal best time shattering her previous best by 23 seconds.
 
Redshirt freshman Mallory Streetman and Maci Mills and freshman Brooklyn Quanz all ran their first collegiate 6ks. Streetman crossed the line with a time of 23:02.5 followed by Mills who finished with a time of 23:59.8. In between the duo was sophomore Savannah McIntosh who finished with a time of 23:56.3. This is McIntosh’s second race of the season. Quanz finished at 24.19.9.
 
The meet hosted by the University of Missouri featured 23 Division 1 teams, including 5th south region ranked Lipscomb (9th). The Bulldogs finished with 202 pts.
The Bulldogs will take a week off and will race again October 13 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. For the Crimson Classic.
