The USC women’s cross country team will compete this weekend at the 2023 Highlander Invitational (6K) at the Ag Ops Course in Riverside, Calif. at 8:40 a.m. on Oct. 14.
USC is coming off a third-place tie at the Pepperdine Invitational on Sept. 9 where freshmen Angelina Vasquez and Marjourie Lopez led the way. In USC’s opening meet, the LMU South Bay Twilight Meet on Sept 1, Lopez was the top Trojan finisher.
USC began the season with a second-place finish at the LMU South Bay Twilight Meet and then tied for third at the Pepperdine Invitational. The second-place finish at LMU was USC’s highest finish as a team since the 2016 Pepperdine Invitational.
Trojans expected to compete at the Highlander Invitational Saturday are Jacqueline Duarte, Marjourie Lopez, Gigi Maccagnini, Lucia Rabolli, Marina Soares, Haley Spoden, Marne Sullivan and Tracy Towns.
The Trojans will next be in action at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships to be hosted by Washington at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Washington on Oct. 27.
