The USC women’s cross country team will be competing at the 2023 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships hosted by Washington at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash. on Friday (Oct. 27). The women’s 6K race will begin at 11:10 a.m. and will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
There will be six ranked women’s teams competing, led by No. 5 Stanford, No. 9 Oregon State, No. 14 Oregon, No. 19 Washington, No. 20 Colorado and No. 21 Utah. The Pac-12 has more top-25 teams than any other conference.
The Trojan women who are scheduled to compete Friday are Marjourie Lopez, Gigi Maccagnini, Lucia Rabolli, Marina Soares, Haley Spoden, Marne Sullivan, Tracy Towns and Angelina Vasquez. None of the Trojan athletes scheduled to compete ran at the 2022 Pac-12 Championships hosted by USC in Riverside, Calif. and only Maccagnini has competed at the conference championships before (2021).
Last year USC’s depleted roster due to injuries and illnesses placed 12th at the Pac-12 Championships, after placing 11th in 2021. The last time USC placed higher was when it finished 10th in 2012.
Colorado has won the last two women’s Pac-12 cross country team titles.
The Pac-12 Cross Country Championships will broadcast live across Pac-12 Networks, featuring commentators Jim Watson and Tom Feuer. Coverage of the men’s 8k championship race will kick off at 10 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. MT with and the women’s 6k broadcast follows at 11 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. MT, with all action airing on Pac-12 Network and all six regional networks. Both races will also be available to authenticated subscribers via the Pac-12 Now app and Pac-12.com.
