Pitt Travels to Florida for ACC Championships


PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh cross country teams look to compete for the ACC Cross Country title on Friday, October 27th at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.

The men’s championship will consist of an 8k race beginning at 8:30a.m., and the women’s championship 6k race follows at 9:30a.m. The award ceremony will take place fifteen minutes after the conclusion of the women’s event.

The Pitt men’s and women’s teams will both send 10 student-athletes to the sunshine state. The men’s group consists of Damian Frausto, Quintin Gatons, Peyton Geehrer, Luke Henseler, Ethan Maher, Jack Miller, Luke Miller, Sam Otis, Luke Simpson, and Finn Walsh. Simpson and Walsh will make their ACC Championship debuts. The Pitt men will look to build upon a 10th place finish a year ago.

The women’s lineup will consist of Ellen Baker, Emily Brown, Olivia Bufalini, Gianna Cagliola, Sadie Carey-Tharp, Anna Cohen, Reagan Flannery, Winnie Incorvaia, Camy Kiser, and Caroline Rusinski. It will be the first time racing at ACC Championships for Baker, Bufalini and Kiser. The women’s squad finished in 13th place last time out.
