Jimoh Leads Efforts at SEC Championships


COLUMBIA, S.C- Freshman Ramat Jimoh led Mississippi State’s efforts at the SEC Championships Friday Morning, posting a top-20 time in school history. 
 
Jimoh ran a personal-best 21:21.1 in the 6K, which ranks 17th in Bulldog history. Following Jimoh were sisters Hayley Ogle and Jaelyn Ogle, respectively. Hayley ran just three-tenths of a second shy of her personal best and finished in 21:43.7. Jaelyn, a freshman, broke her personal best by five seconds, crossing the line in 21:48.2.
 
Hunter Anderson and Madison Jones rounded out the top-five for the Bulldogs. Anderson shaved an impressive 33.8 seconds off her personal best, clocking in 22:05.3.

Madelyn Keating ran a 22:19.6 in her first collegiate 6K, while redshirt freshman Mallory Streetman and freshman Brooklyn Quanz crossed the line in sub-23:30 finishes.

 

Florida claimed both the team SEC Championship and the individual title as the Gators’ Parker Valby finished in 18:37.5.

 

The Bulldogs will head to Gainesville, Florida, in two weeks for the South Region Championship.
