Gators Women’s Cross Country Climb to No. 6 in Week 5 USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Coaches' Poll


The women’s program holds possession of the No. 1 spot in the South Region.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators Women’s Cross Country team takes another step up in the national rankings as the team now holds the No. 6 spot in the newest edition of the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I National Coaches’ Poll.
 

 
The rise in placement comes off the back of the team being crowned the SEC Cross Country Champions after a first place finish in Columbia, South Carolina on October 27. During the meet, Parker Valby earned her second consecutive SEC Cross Country Individual Championship while four other Florida finishers placed in the top twenty: Flomena Asekol (4), Amelia Mazza-Downie (8), Elise Thorner (17) and Allison Wilson (19). The Gators finished ahead of other ranked programs including No. 11 Arkansas, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Alabama and No. 24 Ole Miss.
