PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh Track and Field programs will participate in seven indoor meets and nine outdoor meets over the course of the 2023-24 season, announced Tuesday afternoon by Director of Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Alonzo Webb.
The Panthers will begin the 2023-24 season at the Youngstown State Icebreaker in Youngstown, Ohio on December 1st. Pitt will be off for the holidays until January 13th, when they start off 2024 at the Penn State Challenge in University Park, Pa. The Panthers will then head to the Virginia Tech Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. on January 19-20. One week later, Pitt will return to Penn State for the second time of the season to compete in the PSU National Open on January 26-27. On February 9-10, the team will conclude their indoor regular season in Clemson, SC at the Clemson Tiger Paw and in Boston, Ma. at the Boston University Valentine Invitational.
The ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships will be in Boston on the TRACK at New Balance from February 22-24. The men’s and women’s teams look to improve upon their 10th and 11th place finishes respectively. To cap off the indoor track and field season, the NCAA Indoor Championships will also be held in Boston two weeks later from March 8-9, once again on the TRACK at New Balance.
The Panthers head south to begin the outdoor season in Tampa, Fla. at the USF Bulls Invitational on March 15-16. The team will continue seek out the warm weather, this time as some of the team competes in the Texas Relays in Austin, Tx. on March 27-30, while the rest of the group will compete in the Raleigh Relays on March 28-30, hosted by ACC counterpart, NC State. One week later, Pitt will return to the sunshine state for the South Florida Invitational hosted by the USF on April 5-6. Pitt will remain in the keystone state the weekend of April 13-14 for the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell. Pitt will have a short turnaround as they travel to Charlottesville, Va. for the UVA Challenge on April 18-20. The last meet of the regular season will be at Penn Relays on April 25-27 in Philadelphia, PA at Penn’s historic Franklin Field.
