SANTIAGO, CHILE – Michigan State Track and Field’s own, grad-senior Ryan Talbot, was awarded a bronze medal in the men’s decathlon Tuesday, representing the U.S. at the highly-touted 2023 PanAm Games in Santiago, Chile.

Talbot collected a whopping 7,742 points across the 10 events. The Alto, Michigan native excelled on Monday, Oct. 31, winning the shot put and 400 meter events. The two victories had him in second after the first day of competition in the Chilean capital.
On day two Tuesday, Talbot topped discus, placing third in three other events. Talbot would finish only behind Brazil’s Jose Fernando Ferreira (7,748) and the hosts from Chile’s Santiago Adolfo Ford (7,834).
