Alabama Announces 2024 Track and Field Schedule

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama track and field program announced its 2024 schedule Friday, beginning with the season-opening, Harvey Glance Tide and Tigers Dual Meet in Birmingham, Ala., against the Auburn Tigers.

The indoor season, running from January to March, will include eight different meets spanning across seven weekends. The Crimson Tide will make its 2024 debut with back-to-back trips to Birmingham before traveling to both Clemson, S.C., and Albuquerque, N.M. Alabama will conclude its regular season in Boston, Mass., the same location as the NCAA Indoor Championships held a month later. Arkansas will, once again, play host to the SEC Indoor Championships in February.

The Tide will return to the track in late March, opening its outdoor slate in Starkville, Miss., for the Bulldog Relays. Alabama’s outdoor schedule includes 11 meets across eight different states, highlighted by the annual Crimson Tide Invitational, April 5-6, in Tuscaloosa. The meet will serve as the lone home event of the spring. The 2024 SEC Outdoor Championships (May 9-11) will be hosted by Florida, with the NCAA East Preliminaries (May 22-25) taking place in Lexington, Ky. The NCAA Championships will return to the prestigious Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., as the national meet will run from June 5-8.

Head Coach Dan Waters Said

“Every year our goal is to be at our best when the postseason rolls around and this schedule will certainly help us achieve that. From the start of indoors to the conclusion of the outdoor season, we will face great competition that will challenge us to deliver our best, week-in and week-out.

“An Olympic champion, world record holder and multiple-time All-American, Harvey Glance was an international icon of track and field. His ties to Alabama are especially deep which is why we are excited to open our indoor season with the Harvey Glance Tide and Tigers Dual Meet.
