Alabama Track and Field Alumni Captures Silver Medal, Three Top-10 Finishes at 2023 Pan American Games


SANTIAGO, Chile – The Alabama track and field program saw three of its alumni earn top-10 finishes at the 2023 Pan American Games, highlighted by a silver-medal performance by Team USA’s Daniel Haugh in the men’s hammer throw.

On the final day of the international meet, Haugh secured one of two podium finishes for Team USA behind a 77.62-meter (254-8) launch on his final attempt. Earlier in the meet, Alan de Falchi of Brazil recorded a 10th-place showing in the men’s discus. Fellow Team USA member Emmanuel Bor concluded Alabama’s showing at the Pan American Games with a sixth-place finish in the men’s 5,000-meter final.

  • Daniel Haugh (USA) recorded a silver-medal off a 77.62-meter (254-8) performance in the men’s hammer throw
  • Emmanuel Bor (USA) clocked 14:55.53 en route to his sixth-place finish in the men’s 5,000-meter final
  • Alan de Falchi (Brazil) logged a 10th-place finish in the men’s discus behind a 54.34-meter throw (178-3.25) on his final attempt
