USC Women's Cross Country Team Set For West Regional

Women’s Cross Country | November 09, 2023

The USC women’s cross country team will be competing at the 2023 NCAA West Regional at Haggin Oaks Golf Course  in Sacramento, Calif. on Friday (Nov. 10).  The women’s 6K race will begin at 10:00 a.m.  This is the second time that USC has sent a team to the NCAA XC West Regional since the 2015 season (2021).  The 2021 Regional was also held at Haggin Oaks Golf Course and the Trojans placed 22nd.

There are 39 women’s teams and 31 men’s teams entered into the West Regional. The top two teams in each of the nine regionals secure automatic bids to the championship. The first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team also secure an auto-bid to the championships.

The Trojan women who are scheduled to compete Friday are Marjourie Lopez, Gigi Maccagnini, Lucia Rabiolli, Marina Soares, Marne Sullivan and Tracy Towns.   Maccagnini is the only Trojan runner who has previously represented USC at the West Regional, finishing fourth among the Trojans.
