CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois cross country senior Jack Roberts is set to run in his first NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 18, in Charlottesville, Va. Roberts qualified last week at the NCAA Midwest Regionals, where he finished 10th overall in the 10k with a time of 30:27.6. With this qualification, he became the first Illini men’s cross country runner to make it to the NCAA Championships since Jon Davis in 2021.
Roberts has led the Illini all season long, as he was the team’s highest finisher in every race. He won three regular-season races, and at the Big Ten Championships, he collected Second-Team All-Big Ten Honors for his ninth-place finish in the 8k (24:38.6). This was a 23-place improvement at the Big Ten Championships from a year ago.
Fans can tune in to watch Jack Roberts at 10:10 a.m. CT on ESPNU.
