8. Brian Igoe, former NIKE EKIN, former Reebok executive, sports business executive, 2:20.20 Marathoner (Boston, 1983), died December 16, 2023. Brian was 70 and had been fighting a tough battle with Alzheimer’s, he was 70. 9. Mason Fackert, Concord Ventures, lifelong publishing executive, 1939-2023 (August 27, 2023). Mason was incredibly influential in my publishing career. I worked with his son, Scott for several years. Mason was a wonderful mentor. I am thinking of his wife Lou, Scott, and his brothers and sisters. 11. Thinking of Derek Clayton, the first man under 2:12, 2:11, 2:10, and 2:09 in the marathon. Derek was the VP of Marketing at Runners’ World from the late 1970s to 1985….
