Men’s 4×4 Conclude Clemson Invitational with NCAA Season Best – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson concluded its first meet of the 2024 season on the right foot by recording four first-place finishes on the second day of the Clemson Invitational. Numerous Tigers ranked up personal bests in their respective events, while three Clemson track and field athletes climbed the ranks of Clemson Top 10 list, including Ockera Myrie running a school record in the women’s 300 meters. Clemson’s men’s 4×400 relay capped competition by running a 3:07.59, which leads the NCAA this season.

Most notable on the day was Myrie’s school record in the women’s 300 meter run, as she completed the event in 37.59 to finish third in the event. Antoinette Wan Der Merwe followed with a personal best in the event by finishing in 38.55. The duo finished third and fourth, respectively. Madelyn Dinneen excelled on the track as well running a personal best of 9:50.02 in the women’s 3000 meters to finish first. On the men’s side, D’Andre Anderson finished first in the men’s 200 meter run with a time of 21.24, while Daniel Kidd ran a personal best in the event with a final time of 21.51 for fifth place.

In the field, Courtney Lawrence made his debut as a Tiger in the men’s shot put. In his opening throw, Lawrence launched the shot put 17.62m, which was good enough for a second-place finish in the event, and moved him into seventh all-time on Clemson’s Indoor Top 10 list. Shantae Foreman surpassed her previous best in the triple jump by jumping 13.39 meters for a first-place finish. The mark also moves her from eighth to fourth on Clemson’s Top 10 list.

  • In his first meet as a Tiger, Courtney Lawrence threw 17.62m in the men’s shot put to move into seventh on Clemson’s Indoor Top 10 list
  • Ockera Myrie set a program record in the women’s 300m with a time of 37.59. Antoinette Van Der Merwe followed with a PB of 38.55
  • Efram Melendez cleared a personal best 4.40 meters on the pole vault to finish sixth
  • Grace Hanratty finished with a 2:14.84 in the women’s 800 meter for a new personal best for a fifth-place finish
  • D’Andre Anderson finished first in the men’s 200 meters with a time of 21.24, and both Daniel Kidd and Ryan John set personal bests in the event with times of 21.51 and 22.53, respectively
  • Shantae Forman moved into fourth on Clemson’s Top 10 list in the women’s triple jump with a jump of 13.39 meters
