Ultra runners will compete for Scotland in Perth in March.
It’s the Anglo Celtic Plate event with the main international race taking place over 100k (with 50k championship races therein, too).
And we are pleased to announce nine athletes have been selected to represent Scotland in the ACP at North Inch, Perth.

Dougie Selman (Corstorphine AAC); Chris Richardson (Metro Aberdeen); Henry Hart (Belgrave); Nikki Johnstone unattached; Stuart Paterson (Ochil)
Scotland Women
Amanda Woodrow (Edinburgh AC); Sheena Logan (Fife AC); Jacqueline MacIntyre (Carnegie); Catherine Cowie (Portobello)
Scotland will compete against teams from England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Ireland at Perth.

Here are a few notes from Adrian Stott on the Scotland selections . . .
The men’s team features a mixture of experience with some strong new faces.
*Dougie Selman, Corstorphine, was Scotland’s leading finisher, in fith place, in Northern Ireland in the 2023 ACP at his debut at the distance. He recently set a marathon PB of 2:20:27 in Valencia in December.
*Chris Richardson, Metro Aberdeen and Scottish 100km champion in 2021, will be winning his fourth Scotland and is rewarded for his continuing consistency at the distance.
*Three men are winning their first Scotland vests.
Henry Hart (Belgrave) has had good performances in 2023, with a victory in Italy at the Strasimeno 58km event in March and a 2:23:31 marathon PB at Frankfurt Marathon in October. He is also a previous winner of the Thames Path Challenge 100km.
Nikki Johnstone is originally from Moray but has been living in Berlin for several years. He set a new Scottish 50km road record last February, running 2:56:21.
Stuart Paterson (Ochil Hill Runners) had a fine 2023 with a marathon PB of 2:28:24 at Manchester in April, followed up with fine wins at the Cairngorms Ultra in June, the Ochil Ultra 50 in September and the Glen Ogle 33 in November, where he just missed Paul Raistrick’s long-standing course record,
