USC Wins Three Events On The Final Day Of The Razorback Invitational

William Jones won the men’s 400m, JC Stevenson the men’s 60m dash, Temi Ojora the women’s triple jump and Nathan Cumberbatch set the USC freshman 800m record at the Razorback Invitational held at Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.  today (Jan. 27). 

  • William Jones won the men’s 400m race with a PR of 45.24.  That time moved him from third to second on USC’s all-time list, trailing only Michael Norman (44.52).
  • JC Stevenson won the men’s 60m dash title with a PR of 6.61 which moved him to tied for eighth on USC’s all-time list.  Travis Williams placed third with a season-best time of 6.63 which moved him to 11th on USC’s all-time list.  Stevenson poted a time of 6.65 in the prelims, while Williams had a time of 6.67.
  • Temi Ojora won the women’s triple jump with a PR of 45-2.25/13.77m.  She moved from third to second on USC’s all-time list, trailing only Yvette Bates (45-3.00/13.79m).
  • The women’s 4x400m relay team of Jan’Taijah Jones, Yemi John, Christine M. Mallard and Madison Whyte had a time of 3:28.84 to finish fourth.  That was a season-best time for USC and moved the quartet into seventh on USC’s all-time list.
  • Nathan Cumberbatch set the USC freshman 800m record with a time of 1:47.78 to place fifth.  His time moved him from sixth to second on USC’s all-time list, trailing only Isaiah Jewett (1:46.91).
  • Yemi John ran a PR of 51.74 to place fifth in the women’s 400m race.  Her time bettered her fifth-place standing on USC’s all-time list.
  • Gavin Champ placed eighth in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 49-6.25/15.09m.

The Trojans will next be in action at the Boston College Invitational on Feb. 9-10.
