SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team is heading towards the Midwest for the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational this weekend inside the Devaney Center Indoor Track for the first time ever as a program as indoor season continues to march on.

THE LINE UP
The Women of Utah will send 13 competitors to the Midwest this week for the Husker Invitational with Lincoln, Neb., native Bri Rinn getting the opportunity to compete in front of the hometown crowd this weekend. Of the group competing, freshmen Rachel Bair and Glo Hussey will be competing in the pentathlon. Hussey made a splash back in December when she scored 3364 points in her collegiate debut at the BYU December Invite – which saw her inserted to No. 9 on the all-time list for the pentathlon.
 
In addition to those in the Midwest, the Utes will send a handful up Utah State to get their legs under them at the Speed and Power Meet.
 
LAST TIME OUT
The distance crew had a solid indoor season debut with freshman Kyla Martin running the sixth-fastest indoor mile for the Utes while a handful of others recorded victories in their heats. Lindsey Peters made her Utah debut in the 3000m while McKaylie Caesar competed in her first indoor race alongside Anna Peters. Very Boire made her long-awaited debut as a Ute in the 3000m as well after missing time with injury.
 
ACADEMIC HONOREES
Utah’s McKaylie Caesar, Morgan Jensen and Anna Peters garnered USTFCCCA All-Academic awards on Thursday the coaching association announced. Meanwhile, Utah’s 3.86 team GPA was the highest among Pac-12 schools receiving team…
