Nate Paris named ACC Men's Rookie of the Week


CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Freshman Nate Paris was named ACC Men’s Rookie of the Week, announced the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday, Feb. 6. 

Paris recorded five personal-best marks at the Doc Hale VT Meet finishing second in the heptathlon with 5608 points. Paris finished first in the 60m (6.90), second in the long jump (7.38m), and third in both the 60m hurdles (8.32) and high jump (2.00m).

Paris is the only freshman ranked in the NCAA top 20 and ACC top five in the heptathlon. His score is the third-best in Tech history. 

Paris returns to action this weekend competing in 60m hurdles and long jump at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
