Class S Events to Watch

Boys Events:

Bloomfield boys last won an indoor track Class S title in 2020 and grabbed the runner-up plaque the past two years. This could be their year. Led by their top seeded 4x200m and 4x400m relays and Ja’Mari Manson who is the top seed in the long and high jumps, they will be looking to sweep both genders in the Class S Championships. Those aren’t the only tools the WarHawks have in their kit. Jahmeen Harrigan made New Englands in the 300m last year and is looking for his first ever state title in the event. Add in three hurdlers who could potentially score and a couple of long jumpers and the points should come rolling in all night.

Griffin Mandirola has been one of the top distance runners in the state since he was a sophomore. The Suffield senior, was Class S 1600m champion and made New Englands the past two years. He hasn’t entered in the 1000m this year but he might have the future of CT distance running trying to dethrone him.Tycen LaBelle of Griswold is the top freshman in the state and has a best of 4:29.50 in the 1600m. This will be a classic battle of youth vs the veteran and we will be watching to see who earns the gold…
