NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Graduate student Mitch Weber logged the fifth-best toss in program history in the men’s weight throw, as he joined five fellow Tigers who placed in the top-20 of their respective events on the first day of the Music City Challenge on Friday.
Weber launched for 21.33 (69-11) meters in the men’s weight throw. The toss not only secured a third-place finish for Weber, but also marked a top-five best throw at Mizzou. Junior Sam Innes also earned a top-ten finish at Friday’s event, placing seventh after throwing for 19.61 (64-4) meters.
In the women’s mile, junior Kelsey Schweizer led the Tigers, recording a 4:47.68 mile time. This marked a personal-best pace for Schweizer, as she finished 11th in the event for Missouri. Junior Nicole Louw also clocked a top-20 finish, recording a 4:49.40 mile for 17th place.
On the men’s side, junior Davis Helmerich secured his spot in sixteenth place, logging a 4:05.12 mile time.
