Landa Wins Third Consecutive Shot Put Competition

LUBBOCK, Texas & SEATTLE, Wash. – Arizona Track & Field wrapped up both the Texas Tech Jarvis Scott Open and the Husky Invitational on Saturday. The Wildcats had three top-three finishers in Lubbock, highlighted by Zach Landa who won the men’s shot put for the third consecutive week. In Seattle, the distance crew had a day full of personal bests.

“Our final team competition out here in Lubbock was a really successful competition for us,” said Head Coach Fred Harvey. “We hit it in a lot of different areas. We had personal bests in the throws with Tapenisa Havea and Haedyn Bambolo. I thought we did a really nice job in the sprints as well where we had really good performances with Trayvion White-Austin setting the school record in the 60m dash yesterday. Overall, going into the USATF Indoor Championships we’ll have some opportunities to get into those top 16s for the NCAA Indoor Championships.”
