SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team returns to the PNW once last time to compete inside Dempsey Indoor this weekend at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Meet as the Utes get one last crack at running a qualifying time for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

FROM THE START LINE
The Women of Utah will send 20 participants to the Ken Shannon Last Chance Meet this weekend. Of the 20 participants, 12 will be from the distance side with eight coming from the sprints side of things. From the bunch, freshman Katarzyna Nowakowska will be competing in her first indoor meet ever while Kylie Hartnett makes her first indoor appearance this season in the 3000m race. Nowakowska is currently set to compete in the mile and 3000m.
Utah will also have another familiar face out on the track with former All-American Emily Venters set to compete in the 5000m race against her Utes and the field.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah’s sprints team had a great showing at the Arkansas Qualifier last weekend with seven edits or new entries into the all-time record books – including a new school record and a record-tying mark. In her first time running the indoor 800m race, Josefine Eriksen broke the previous record held by Nellie Hammons (2:06.29) from March 6, 2004, with a time of 2:05.88.
Harley Daniel nearly was just a step or two away from owning the 60m hurdles record all to herself after tying the all-time mark with Angela Kaplar (Feb. 12, 2011) with a mark of 8.56. Bailey…
