BOSTON – The NCAA Indoor Championships opened up tonight with the men’s and women’s weight throws, featuring Husky record-holder Jayden White in his fourth-straight and final indoor championship. White earned a third-straight podium finish, landing in eighth-place today to put the UW men’s team on the board heading into a full day’s action on Friday.
The weight throws were moved to Thursday and held separate from the rest of the meet due to facility safety concerns. White was the first thrower in the field of 16 and therefore the first competitor in the championship, taking place this year at The TRACK at New Balance.
White had to come up clutch in round three after he had two fouls on his first two attempts, both going just wide to the left of the sector. On his third throw, he went 72-11 ¼ which put him in seventh after the round ended, and the field was reduced from 16 to…
