CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami Hurricanes track and field’s jumps and combined events coach Rob Jarvis has been named Men’s South Region Assistant Coach of the Year by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Association.

Jarvis, in his seventh year for the Hurricanes, coached recent national champion Russell Robinson to a historic finish two weeks ago at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships in Boston, Massachusetts.

Robinson bested the competition in the triple jump with a mark of 16.76m — occurring on his first attempt of the competition. Robinson’s jump was a new indoor school record and facility record at the TRACK at New Balance.

Jarvis also coached Liberty University transfer Kennedy Sauder to a ninth-place finish and second team All-American honors. Sauder ended the men’s high jump with a final height of 2.18m

Jarvis’ athletes, including ACC heptathlon champion Edgar Campre, contributed 32 of the Hurricanes’ 53 points for the men’s team at the 2024 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships last month.
