Great news overnight from America – with Megan Keith clocking an Olympic qualifying standard in the Women’s 10,000m.

The Scot was in action in  the Sound Running TEN in California and came home in a superb 30:36.84 to finish in third place in the race.

Megan, who raced at the World Champs in Budapest last summer, now moves to fourth on the UK all-time list for the event.

Well done to Megan, coach Ross Cairns and all involved in her development at Inverness Harriers and Edinburgh Uni Hare and Hounds over the years.

Meanwhile, Jake Wightman continued his return to full fitness after a lengthy injury rehab in 2023.

After some indoor track events, Jake raced on the road at the Podium 5k event in Leicester and finished in 11th place.

Jake clocked 13:52 on a wet and windy night for a performance which is high on the Scottish all-time list.

Among the other Scottish runs to note in the Men’s race: Reiss Marshall at 14:27; Derek Hawkins at 14:41 and Callum Hawkins at 15:12.

Megan Davies came up with a fine run in the Women’s race to post a PB of 15:34.

And Erin Wallace took the top prize-money in the Women’s 1k event with a strong run of 2:34.
