4x400m relay team breaks school record at Weems Baskin Relays


COLUMBIA, S.C. –  Virginia Tech’s 4x400m relay team made up of KJ Tillmon, Kennedy Harrison, Ali Diaby, and Judson Lincoln IV had a record setting day at the Weems Baskin Relays in Columbia, S.C. on Saturday, March 23 finishing first with the second fastest time in the nation. 
 
Tech crossed the finish line with a time of 3:05.56, breaking the previous record of 3:06.39 set in 2023 by Kennedy Harrison, Judson Lincoln IV, Max James, and Amir Green
 
“We’re committed to making history and honoring the tradition of spectacular Hokies that came before us, and those who will come after us,” said assistant coach Alan Dunson. “It is a privilege to start off the season in record breaking fashion. These men are just getting started.” 
 
Tech’s 4x400m relay team started the season ranked first in the ACC with the victory on Saturday. The men recently won the Hokies first-ever 4x400m ACC Indoor Championship with a time of 3:06.00. 
 
In the 200m, Lincoln crossed the finish line first running a personal-best time of 20.60, ranked 12th in the NCAA. Diaby finished second with a time of 20.90, followed by Tillmon in third (20.94). 
 
Aidan Clark placed third in the men’s high jump clearing a height of 6’9″ (2.06m) on his first attempt. 
 
Ole Miss Classic
Freshman Vlad Puchko made his collegiate-debut at the Ole Miss Classic in Oxford, Miss. on Saturday placing first in the men’s discus. 
 
Puchko’s first round mark of 57.08m went unchallenged by the field of 26 men. He would go on to triumph over the field with a mark of 190′ 10″ (58.17m) in the fourth round. Puchko ranks second in the ACC and 13th in the NCAA. 
 
Katrin Brzyszkowska started the outdoor season on Saturday finishing fourth in shot put. Brzyszkowska ranks first in the conference and 11th in the NCAA shot put with a mark of 54’2″ (16.51m). 
 
Senior Sara Killinen leads the conference in the women’s hammer throw finishing fifth on day one of the Ole Miss Classic. Killinen set a season-best mark of 211’1″ (64.35m). Barbora Stejfova ranks 23rd in the nation with a mark of 197’02” (60.10m) finishing seventh.
